As I was sitting down and really digging into cosmic eschatology I began to find it interesting that we, as Christians, base so much our lives on our Christian worldview concerning the end of time (note that I did not say biblical worldview). What Christians generally believe about the end of the world, or the end times, dominates our attitudes and actions in so many different areas such as economic policy, the environment, and justice, to name just a few. These are not small matters, these are BIG, important issues. I find this realization of mine quite alarming especially when you consider that eschatology is the least taught, least studied, and least understood of all Christian doctrine. In fact, most of us have probably never even heard the term…

I would like to jump in and comment on this topic of eschatology. You are right, Patrick, in that it is a subject that is so rarely discussed in the church and very misunderstood by Christians. And what a travesty as we are living in the last days leading up to the rapture of the church, the beginning of the tribulation period, the rise of the antichrist, false prophet, one-world currency, mark of the beast – just to name a few of the events and signs the Bible gives us! And we are seeing signs all around us, yet the church is virtually silent on this matter. Very sad.
